Bruce Furst - President of Ashber Corporation in Austin, TexasWith over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Bruce Furst boasts significant expertise in film and music licensing. The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) recruited Bruce Furst in 1989, and he acted as a Licensee for the privately held concern upon graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Bruce Furst remained with the MLBPA from 1989 to 1999. In 1992, Paramount Pictures hired Bruce Furst as a Film Library Licensee. Bruce Furst also continued in his work with Paramount until 1999. Through both positions, Bruce Furst acquired an intimate understanding of entertainment commodities licensing, merchandising, and distribution. Bruce Furst established the Ashber Corporation in 2000.
Through this Austin TX-based entertainment company, Bruce Furst remains active in a variety of projects. Bruce Furst regularly negotiates the licensing of music for motion pictures. Additionally, Bruce Furst arranges film licensing and distribution agreements. As a producer, Bruce Furst has successfully spearheaded an array of major projects in both film and music. Bruce Furst acted as Executive Producer for the film Fly Kidz, starring Eclipse’s Boo Boo Stewart. Additionally, Bruce Furst’s exceptional efforts in music producing led to the creation of Sony BMG Music Entertainment’s 2006 top selling album in its category. Bruce Furst’s Christmas Classics: Yesterday, Today & Forever featured Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton, Gloria Estefan, Luther Vandross, Destiny’s Child, Tony Bennett, Jessica Simpson, Babyface, and TLC. Bruce Furst holds a B.A. in Political Science and a Juris Doctor with an emphasis in intellectual property law from UCLA. A member of the UCLA Alumni Association, Bruce Furst also volunteers with Amnesty International and the Harvard University Parent Fundraising Committee. |
